My name is John Day. Founder and event director for everything Race Day XC!
The north east is an amazing backdrop for XC MTB racing…. We have the mountains, we have the dirt, the forest cover and a dense population with thousands of passionate cyclists. What we don’t have is a consistent XC series or a unified cross country racing community. As a veteran promoter and a dedicated racer, that is a challenge that has intrigued me for years. I am proud and ready to accept that challenge.
My goal is to provide New England with the greatest XCO race series in North America. A series for kids, families, amateurs, and pros. A local series, with a world class feel. Purpose built, next level tracks for all abilities, professional media coverage and an organized championship to match the effort our riders pour into this sport. In my opinion New England is a sleeping giant for mountain bike racing… and if done right, I believe in 10 years people will refer to New England as “ The Mecca of Mountain Bike Racing”.

About the Races
- All Races Will Be XCO Format
- Approximate Lap Length: 2-4 Miles
- Approximate Lap Duration: 15-20 Minutes
- Awards For Top 3 Finishers in Each Category
- Each Round* is a Points Paying Event for Overall Series Championship.
Race Durations
- Pro Men And Women: 1.5 Hours
- Expert Men And Women: 1.5 Hours
- Sport Men And Women: 1 Hour
- Novice Men and Women: 1 hour
- Youth 4-11: 30 minutes
- Youth 12-18: 1 hour
- Kids Push Bike: 5-15 Minutes
- eBikes: 45-60 Minutes

Awards Banquet
Racers will be celebrated at the end of the championship season with an Awards Banquet and Dinner Ceremony. Dates, location and more info will be announced in the summer of 2025.

For 2025 POC Sports will be awarding all individual 46 class champions with a POC helmet customized with the Race Day XC stripes. These helmets will be awarded at our series banquet following this season. We hope to start this tradition and highlight the achievements of our racers in a special, distinctive way for years to come.
